Contemplating the notable price disparity between the WOTLK and retail tokens, (7k gold and 400k gold respectively), has led me to wonder – could savvy retail players dabble in WOTLK classic, primarily to sustain their gameplay?
Quick reminder: WOTLK classic tokens only offer game time while the retail token offers both game time and battlenet balance.
To conduct an authentic test, I’m creating a fresh character on Gehannas EU Horde. I’ve picked this server specifically due to its bustling economy, which translates into quick sales and zero delay.
Starting From Scratch
While the idea of seeding myself with an initial 10g investment sounds tempting, it would skew the results. After all, those dipping their toes into WOTLK for the first time won’t have such luxury. Instead, I plan to hit Orgrimar’s streets, offering my signature for guild charters. Failing that, a bit of old-fashioned farming should get things rolling.
Once I’ve secured some startup gold, my plan is to become a fixture at the Auction House.
Even if my charter-signing hustle doesn’t yield much gold, I’m not sweating it. Everyone has to start somewhere. I’ll be using TSM to keep tabs on all transactions, so we can track together how long it takes to go from zero to a wow token. Sit tight, it’s going to be quite the gold-tinted journey!
